Our Products and Service

SWS Communications specializes in the sale and service of two-way land mobile communications and digital weather monitoring systems and accessories. We also manufacture our own line of emergency plant monitoring receivers and battery backup systems. Most service work is done in our own shop by SWS technicians who average more than 30 years of experience.

History of SWS Communications

1975 SWS Communications formed as a sales and service company specializing in two-way radio communications for petrochemical and related industries
1976 UHF community repeater system owned and operated by SWS Communications provides wide area communications
1982 Awarded contract to provide UHF radio system for the Houston Astrodome
1984 SWS begins manufacturing automatic battery backup units for base stations and repeaters
1985 SWS becomes a major supplier of UHF instrinsically safe portables and base stations to member companies of the Channel Industries Mutual Aid (CIMA) emergency response organization
1986 The first of four consecutive years that SWS ranks among the top ten, nationally, in sales of Standard Communications products
1988 Awarded turnkey contract by Continental Airlines to provide Kenwood UHF radio system at Stapleton International Airport, Denver, Colorado
1988 SWS supplies Magnum Ear Mike units for Continental Airlines portable radio system at Newark International Airport
1989 Awarded contract by Air Micronesia to provide portable communication equipment for Guam International Airport
1989 SWS Communication's service manager, Stan Harris, awarded national Top Tech of the Year by Standard Communications
1990 SWS Expands into digital weather monitoring systems
1994 Awarded contract for UHF radio system at Houston's Sam Houston Racepark
1995 SWS designs, manufactures and markets its own custom-built emergency monitoring receiver system for petrochemical and related industries
1996 Awarded contract by Continental Micronesia for UHF Repeater System at new airport in Guam
1997 SWS in conjunction with Kenwood Systems Group installs an LTR UHF Trunking system at the AMOCO Chemical Facility in Pasadena Texas
1998 SWS provides a five channel radio system to ESPN for the Winter X Games in Colorado
2000 Designed and installed wireless emergency strobe/horn alerting system in Albemarle Corp. Petrochemical facility in Pasadena, Texas 
2001 SWS provides a seven channel UHF Trunking system to BP Chemical in Pasadena Texas
2002 SWS provided 5 channel UHF LTR trunking system for Albemarle Corp. Petrochemical facility in Pasadena Texas
2003 Provided turnkey David Clark headset system for Deer Park Texas Fire Dept and Emergency Response Fleet
2004 Designed and manufactured custom media communications package for Metro Networks aviation traffic reporting network
2005 Designed and installed Motorola Canopy wireless security surveillance network for Lubrizol Corp, Deer Park and Bayport Texas Petrochemical facilities
